ISO 26000– A SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY STRATEGY

The ISO 26000:2010 is an International standard that provides guidance rather than requirements, on how businesses and organisations can operate in a socially responsible way, which means acting in an ethical and transparent way that contributes to the health and welfare of the society. Additionally, it is designed for all types of organisations regardless of their activity, size or location.

The specific standard is not intended or appropriate for certification purposes. Similar standard, which can be certified, is the SA 8000 (Social Accountability International Standard)
